Happy Monday Reader! I’ve noticed that most people who struggle to improve their self discipline have three main things that limit them. I figured I’d share them with you! #1 - Procrastination We all know that procrastination plays a role in our life that limits us from acheiving what we want. If you don’t have an end goal, it’ll be very difficult to limit procrastination from happening.
Getting clear on these questions won’t only help with your goal setting, but it will also help limit the procrastination and resistance from taking a big toll on your journey. Another big realization that happened for me is part of the reason why procrastination is showing up in the first place is to test how badly you truly want this dream to come true. And viewing it from that perspective changed a lot for me… It all comes down to your perspective, it plays a bigger role than you think! #2 - Your Beliefs Perspective is everything on your self improvement journey. And if you only use language that will bring you down, it’ll be even harder to make your dreams come true… Your behavior will always follow your beliefs. You’re the author and creator of this life you’re creating for yourself. And you’re going to let a belief limit you from that? You never want that to happen. You HAVE to believe that you can make it happen. Otherwise it’ll be hard to enjoy what you’re creating, and we’re all creating a masterpiece for ourselves and you want to soak that all in! Believe in yourself and the goals/dreams you have for yourself will come to life if you don’t give up on yourself. Keep pushing your limits! #3 - Lack of Accountability, Commitment, & Consistency Accountability is one of the greatest things you can master. Taking ownership of what you say you’re going to do will take you above and beyond. Lacking this trait can lead to a lot of missed opportunities and a lack of progress… Viewing accountability from the perspective of a culture of continuous improvement, it will shift your mindset to something even greater. Stay accountable to what you say you’re going to do, it will build your self discipline, self worth, and overall wellbeing. Commitment to a goal is like signing a contract with yourself. When people see a lack of commitment it’s usually from a place of uncertainty on what they’re trying to achieve. So, what is that one big thing you’re trying to achieve? How will you make it happen for yourself? But if you aren’t clear on it, it may be time to go even deeper on what you truly want… Commitment is one of the biggest drivers of your success! Consistency is the non-negotiable of this whole self improvement journey. Consistent action will build habits that will take you to the next level. Where there is no consistency there is a lack of focus that can hurt you in the long run. And even though consistency can be difficult at times, following through can be one of the key drivers that allow you to make this dream happen. You want to focus on the journey more than the outcome. Release the attachment to the result immediately. The shiny gold trophy is nice and all, but the path there is what truly matters. Soak in what you’re creating! — I hope this email landed for you and got some good value out of it. I wrote a free 20 page self discipline mastery guide on how you can master the art of self discipline to capitalize on your potential… There’s a bunch of gems in the guide that you definitely don’t want to miss out on! You can get the guide here. Let’s make this week ahead one of the greatest we can! Much love, CJ Jelinek |
